Classmates, spouses and friends began the two day reunion on Friday by gathering at the Four Seasons Motel's hospitality room. Barbara W. Hundley brought the SHHS flag to hang on the door of the room. Marion welcomed everyone. Everyone then enjoyed drinks, snacks and fellowship.
The dinner in the motel dining area began at 5:00 pm. Thirty-three attended. Billy Jack Furches returned THANKS and a delicious meal was served.
After dinner, everyone returned to the hospitality room. Good times and wonderful fellowship were evident. Marion recognized "Sweetpea" and Brownlee Reagan. He thanked them for all the arrangements they had made for the rooms, the hospitality room, the dinner and the picnic area with the meal.
Marion then presented "Sweetpea" with a "Sweetpea" album furnished by Wayne Cox. Marion told her he could not give it to her until it had been filled with pictures of the reunion. He also presented her with a necklace, selected by Sandra Green and Sandra Williams, from the class for being a "great host".
On Saturday, the group visited downtown Gatlinburg and then returned to the hospitality room about 3:00 pm. Everyone then traveled to Twin Creeks picnic area for the evening.
The picnic area was beautiful with a large creek nearby. The shelter was large. Everyone enjoyed the area. Don Blackburn returned THANKS and everyone enjoyed the meal. Thirty-three attended.
Marion recognized Alice W. Lanier and Jim Hagy for upcoming birthdays and Sandra and David Williams and Shirley T. and Bob Crawford for anniversaries upcoming the next week.
After picture taking and more fellowship, the group returned to the hospitality room for the evening. Again, fellowship and high school memories were shared.
Many thanks to the reunion committee members and Wayne Cox for the wonderful snacks, drinks, the gifts for "Sweetpea" and the SHHS flag.
